Lungs & breathing

Lungs & Breathing

Low-dose CT, full lung function, and a straight answer about your risk.

Built for current and former smokers, and for anyone whose cough, breathlessness or chest tightness has outlasted an explanation. The centrepiece is a low-dose CT, the only screening shown in randomised trials to reduce lung cancer mortality, read here with the Lung-RADS classification so a finding comes with a defined interval rather than an open question. Full lung function distinguishes asthma from COPD from something structural.

This is the right package if

  • Smokers and ex-smokers from roughly 20 pack-years
  • A cough, breathlessness or chest tightness that has not resolved
  • Occupational exposure to dust, asbestos, fumes or solvents

Everything included

Imaging

  • Low-dose chest CT, read with Lung-RADS classification
  • Coronary calcium score from the same scan, at no extra dose
  • Chest X-ray, two views

Lung function

  • Spirometry before and after bronchodilator
  • Body plethysmography (total lung capacity, residual volume)
  • Diffusing capacity for carbon monoxide (DLCO)
  • Fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO) for airway inflammation
  • Six-minute walk test with continuous oximetry

Blood & allergy

  • Full blood count with eosinophils
  • Arterial blood gas
  • Alpha-1 antitrypsin level
  • Total IgE and a common inhalant allergen panel
  • Inflammation markers and D-dimer

What we add

  • An interpreter with you for every appointment
  • Your CT handed over as DICOM, which any radiologist at home can open
  • A written report stating the Lung-RADS category and the interval it implies
  • A 30-minute video debrief with our medical coordinator

How to prepare

You receive this as a dated countdown after booking, timed to your flight. Preparation is where most checkups fail, so we do not leave it to a generic PDF.

  1. 01Do not smoke for 24 hours before — it changes the lung function results
  2. 02Withhold inhalers for 6 to 12 hours if your own doctor agrees; never stop without asking
  3. 03Fast for 8 hours before the blood draw — water is fine
  4. 04Wear clothing with no metal on the upper body

Not included

  • Flights and accommodation
  • Bronchoscopy or biopsy of a finding
  • Treatment of findings

This page describes diagnostic services. It is not medical advice and it is not a diagnosis. Which examinations are appropriate for you is confirmed by a physician reviewing your medical intake before your appointment, and we will substitute or refund if a package turns out not to suit you.

Add individual tests

These can be done on the same trip. Conflicts with what is already in this package are flagged automatically in your cart.
